About Yoga

Yoga(Sanskrit, योगः pronunciation) is the art and science of living and is concerned with an integrated development of all aspects of the individual. Yoga is a combination of asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), Yoga Nidra (relaxation techniques) and meditation (mindfulness). The practice of yoga creates a balance in the total personality- physical, emotional, mental and creative aspects of personality.

Yoga is suitable for everyone, even children and adults with physical disabilities can participate in yoga exercises because yoga is not just fast, energy burning, muscle hardening exercises, rather it is movement and postures for stretching and toning the muscles, for creating flexibility within the skeletal system, and additionally affect the development and maintenance of healthy nervous and endocrinal systems.
Benefits of Yoga:

Yoga is a combination of asanas and pranayama in which Yoga asanas build flexibility, agility, correct posture for our bodies and Pranayama is a very good practice for achieving efficiency in respiration with little energy drain.
Yoga naturally brings sobriety and calmness in behavior and takes care of the phenomenon of relaxation and the culture of emotions.
Children who do Pranayam every day find breathing exercises help them to swim longer under water because through pranayama practice they learn to utilize their full lung capacity.
Meditation and yoga promote imagination, reduces stress, increase mindfulness as well as enhance the ability to concentrate, remember, reason, involving the conscious, subconscious and unconscious mind and systematic stimulation of both brain hemispheres.
Practitioners will learn to move from one posture to another in a form of dance while practicing asana gradually. This creative aspect uplifts imagination, visualization, vocalization, and cultivation of one’s own personality.
Incorporating yoga into our daily routine can help to get more oxygen to our cell and reduce symptoms of stress, depression, and anxiety.
